The phosphate industry found at least one regular consumer of one of its waste products called silicofluorides. Municipal water treatment facilities used this waste product and based on recent estimates; the phosphate industry sells approximately 200,000 tons of silicofluorides (hydro-fluorosilicic acid & sodium silicofluoride) to US communities each year for use as a water fluoridation agent, (Bromwell and Carrier, Inc.). 200,000 tons of this particular phosphate waste is a small amount relative to what is produced in the mining process overall.

The buildings of the future will continue to be taller. Naturally, there will be a need for stringent safety regulations and light weight construction materials that offer superior strength, thus making traditional construction materials obsolete. Gypsum plasterboards offer solutions for all the above mentioned requirements. Since they are eight to ten times lighter than conventional masonry systems, they offer three to four times’ faster construction speeds. As gypsum has good fire and moisture resistance properties, gypsum plasterboards offer high levels of safety as well. Gypsum products are completely recyclable, and hence, offer an environment friendly construction solution. Due to all these factors, it is no surprise that more than eighty percent of all interior construction in developed nations used drywall techniques.
The gypsum ceiling can be formed to accommodate different points of the light fixtures. Straight fluorescent tubes are usually placed on the edge of the ceiling and the wall. Down lighters can be placed on four corners of the room soffits. To get the different light effects in a room, the ceiling is designed to allow a hollow place to fit the fixtures. The wiring is done normally but with different switches. The dimmer switchers can also be used to enhance the light effects in the room.
Makes excess Magnesium non-toxic: Calcium is essential to the biochemical mechanisms by which most plants nutrients are absorbed by roots. Without adequate calcium, uptake mechanisms would fail. In soils having unfavorable calcium magnesium ratios, such as serpentine soils, gypsum can create a more favorable ratio. Thus render Magnesium non-toxic.
